Strato HCM
An enterprise HR document platform built for SAP SuccessFactors. It covers automated document generation, approval workflows, and a secure Digital Employee File for organisations from mid-sized enterprises to global multinationals. I directed the UX strategy and product design for the Strato suite at SpinifexIT.
The challenge
HR teams on SAP SuccessFactors generate and manage huge volumes of sensitive employee documents: contracts, offer and promotion letters, payslips, tax forms, and certificates. All of it has to follow strict retention, privacy, and audit rules across regions.
The workflows behind this are complex B2B processes with templates, rules, approvals, and permissions. My job was to turn those requirements into accessible, frictionless journeys for HR admins, managers, and employees, without hiding the power enterprise customers depend on.
The product
Strato combines two products on one platform, both working inside SAP SuccessFactors.
- Document Generation: smart templates with rules, reusable content, and live SuccessFactors data
- Contracts, letters, forms, and emails, with multilingual output and DocuSign / Adobe Sign e-signatures
- Configurable approval workflows for hiring, promotions, and payroll changes
- Document Management: a secure Digital Employee File with role-based access
- Search by metadata, filters, OCR, and keywords across every employee file
- Retention, archival, legal hold, and audit trails for GDPR and regional compliance
- People Hub: folders, properties, policies, and groups for each employee
- Mobile and tablet access, so employees and managers can reach documents anywhere
What I did
I directed UX strategy and product design execution for the Strato digital product suite.
- Redesign impact: I led a comprehensive UX/UI overhaul of enterprise workflows that improved user task completion rates by 85%.
- Design system efficiency: I engineered a standardized Material design system that cut design-to-development handoff time by 40% and removed cross-team friction.
- Product strategy: I partnered directly with product leadership to translate complex B2B requirements into accessible, frictionless user journeys.

Keyword search reaches into document content, with matches highlighted in context, plus the recipient and last update, so HR stops digging through folders.
