The Challenge
Most fitness apps overwhelm users with "data fatigue." When the interface feels like a spreadsheet, people get bored or frustrated and quit.
The core problem: how do you make daily workout logging feel rewarding enough that users come back — not because they have to, but because they want to?
The Solution
We redesigned the logging experience to be as frictionless as possible, moving away from dense charts and manual entry. To keep users hooked, we turned their physical progress into an RPG-style adventure.
Instead of staring at heart rate graphs, users "level up" a character, like a Warrior or Archer, making daily consistency feel like a game rather than a data entry task.

My Process
As the sole designer and developer, I ran the full product cycle — from early user interviews to shipping the live beta.
- Conducted user research interviews with fitness enthusiasts and personal trainers
- Mapped out user journeys for both the athlete and coach perspectives
- Designed the full UI system in Figma using a custom component library
- Built the frontend in Next.js + TypeScript with Firebase as the backend
- Used AI-assisted coding (Firebase Studio + prompt engineering) to accelerate delivery
- Iterated based on beta tester feedback across multiple sprint cycles
